Oliver Wilson is improving his game, will join the Ballantine's Championship field
Oliver Wilson is improving rapidly. He will join the upcoming European Tour’s Ballantine's Championship field, and desires to be on the top.
The 31-year-old English professional golf player was facing troubles since January. After putting in extra efforts and commitment, he is on a straight road to recovery.
He started the current European Tour season from the Africa Open, and finished on the 79th position. Then he played the Joburg Open and recorded a 121st finish there.
Then he moved to Qatar and played the Commercialbank Qatar Masters presented by Dolphin Energy. He somehow improved his performance and registered a 69th place finish on the leaderboard.
He further improved his game and delivered his best performance of the year at Open de Andalucía Costa del Sol, by grabbing the 26th position.
Just a week before, he played the Volvo China Open and impressed the spectators with his amazing strokes. He secured the 52nd position there and enjoyed playing on the fast greens.
"It was great to play so well from tee to green," said Wilson. "But I couldn't get the putter going. There is definitely an improvement in my game and I've just got to be patient".
After arriving in Korea, he shared that when he was in Dubai, spectators were talking about his poor performance. From that day, he decided to recover and strove to display amazing performances in the current season.
"When I played in Dubai last December, I knew people were talking behind my back," said Wilson. "It was being suggested that I shouldn't get any starts because I didn't go to tour school.”
He added, "It was hard to listen to as they had no idea why I hadn't gone to the tour school and my confidence took a real battering".
What he planned in Dubai, he implemented it well. His performance is coming back to form again.
He is now ready to show some outstanding golfing skills from April 26 to 29, at the Blackstone Golf Club, Icheon in Seoul, South Korea.
He is trying hard to fulfil his desires and will be facing tough rivals in Korea. Therefore, he needs to further improve his swing, putting and shots on the greens. If he does so, he is likely to be finishing among the top on the leaderboard.
