Olivia Smoliga claims 100 yard freestyle title in Winnetka: 2011 High School State Championships
The 2011 High School State Championships were held in Winnetka, Illinois, from November 18-19. The meet saw many intriguing and versatile performances throughout the sessions. One of the most thrilling swimming efforts was put forward by Olivia Smoliga,
who proved her confidence against her rivals by producing attention grabbing and versatile turns in the pool throughout the race.
More importantly, Olivia Smoliga outclassed her challengers including Samantha James and Maddie Monroe due to her impressive swimming turns in the pool, where she surpassed her distance in the race by claiming the finishing divider in a nerve wrecking blot
of 48.92 seconds to capture the Girl’s 100 yard freestyle crown.
In the meantime, the swimming attempt of Samantha James was indeed impressive as she went on to win silver medal in the respective race by touching the finishing barrier in a winning time of 49.94 seconds. In addition, Maddie Monroe showed her great resilience
and stamina against her opponents in the pool and earned the third place honours by smacking the finishing hurdle in a mark of 51.52 seconds.
On the other hand, the swimming efforts of Elly Vitek and Rachel Burke were not slipshod, as both athletes, Vitek and Burke went on to get the fourth position in the respective race by touching the finishing fence in a matching time of 51.73 seconds. Additionally,
Mallory Remick claimed sixth position in a time of 51.87 seconds and Erin Falconer earned seventh place honours by touching the finishing wall in a mark of 51.88 seconds, respectively.
Moreover, Louisa Hoffman splashed hard throughout the race and secured eighth position by thumping the finishing hurdle in a time of 51.89 seconds. Nikol Lagodzinska earned ninth position in a mark of 52.30 seconds, while Katie Wells settled at tenth place
in a mark of 52.40 seconds.
Last, but not the least, Erika Elliott earned eleventh place honours in the respective swim by claiming the finishing fence in a spot of 52.45 seconds and Morgan Scott settled at twelfth position in a mark of 52.53 seconds, respectively.
