While talking to media, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international, Olivier Giroud disclosed that it might be hard for him to say no to a big Italian Serie A time if one comes up with a proposal in the summer transfer window
Since the beginning of the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 campaign, Montpellier Herault striker, Olivier Giroud has proven to be quite a handful for Ligue 1 opponents.
In recent weeks, the Frenchman has become a centre of attention. The striker has already scored the most goals in Ligue 1 this campaign which has understandably attracted interest from many European clubs.
Repeatedly, the striker has admitted his preference towards the English Premier League. However, while talking to RTL a few days back, the striker admitted his profound love for the German Bundesliga.
And today, while talking to Italian sports daily, La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Chambery-born striker expressed his love for the Italian Serie A as well.
“I always like seeing the big Italian teams play the Champions League. But I must say that I see Real Madrid and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 favourites for this competition. But I must admit, I support AC Milan. Marco Van Basten was a myth for me and I loved the elegance
and versatility of Shevchenko. I also like Ibrahimovic.”
The recent statements made by the striker mean that he is clearly not sure about his future. However, if he does choose to leave La Paillade, Giroud would certainly not short of suitors.
The likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 and Juventus are very closely monitoring Giroud’s progress and the striker says that he is flattered by the amount of interest he is getting.
However, the striker says that he loves playing football but added that he is more keen on the Premier League than the Italian Serie A.
Even if his future is uncertain, it would totally depend on where Montpellier Herault finish. If Rene Girard’s side manages to qualify for the Champions League, Giroud would be forced to consider experience playing in Europe for the club before making a
big move.
As things stand, Montpellier are on top of the Ligue 1 and if they keep on getting the right results, Olivier Giroud might stay for at least one more season.
