Olivier Giroud of Montpellier Herault keeping his feet on the ground – Ligue 1 news
Montpellier Herault striker, Olivier Giroud has seen a great start to the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 campaign both on a personal and at club level.
Les Paillade are currently on top of the French Ligue 1 standings with 12 points from five games while Giroud himself has been in fine form so far. The 24-year-old has already scored two goals in five appearances and is reportedly under the radar of France
national team boss Laurent Blanc.

his chances on Giroud who has been fairly prolific for a support striker.
The 24-year-old also acknowledges the fact that he might be in line for a Les Bleus call-up in the future. However, the Chambery native is not at all over awed by the sudden euphoria surrounding him. While talking to France Football, the youngster said that
he is happy to know that his efforts are being acknowledged.
“It’s flattering. It’s nice and confirms that I’ve made a good start. But this does not inflame me. I have no reason to be under pressure,” the 24-year-old said. The former Tours striker said that he is hopeful of getting his chance at the national team
but will never be obsessed by the idea.
“I think I’m on the right path. I do not dream. It is in the back of my head (to play for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899). However, I’m aware of the competition and if I do well this season, I might have a serious chance,” the Montpellier hitman further added.
With his rival (Hoarau) currently injured, the top scorer of the 2009/2010 Ligue 2 season with Tours has shown a lot of respect for Hoarau.
“Hoarau is someone that I respect a lot and I’m not going to publicise myself just because I have a chance. I will show my worth on the ground and the rest is up to fate,” the striker further added, thus demonstrating his willingness to prove himself further
rather than talking about something that hasn’t even happened yet.
Les Bleus’ next outing would be at home against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Albania-c2834 and Bosnia in France’s last two games of the UEFA Euro 2012 qualifiers and if Giroud continues to perform the way he has performed so far, his name might be on the team sheet in one of those two home
games that take place on seventh and eleventh October respectively.
