Olivier Rochus slays Ivo Klec to enter semis – Orange Open Guadeloupe 2012 CH
Top seeded wild card entrant, Olivier Rochus, drilled through the Slovakian qualifier, Ivo Klec, with double bagels at the Orange Open 2012 on Friday. He barely sweated to jolt down a 6-0,
6-0 victory against the world number 489 to secure a place in the final four at the Challenger Tour event held in Le Gosier.
Rochus displayed top class performance to devastate the qualifier in their first encounter. He broke Klec’s serve six times and was never broken down, eventually pulling out the match with
a superb straight set victory.
Ranked 52nd in the South African Airways ATP World Tour Rankings, Rochus blasted into the Stade Lambert Lamby and went on a six-game killing spree. The Belgian cashed in all three
break opportunities and fended off the lone breakpoint he faced to seal the opener with an assuring 6-0 success.

The 31-year-old Belgian maintained his intensity in the following set and earned the coveted break in the opening game to take the initial lead once more. He continued displaying excellent
skills and swiped in the successive five games, subsequently pocketing the set with a spectacular 6-0 win. Rochus again capitalised on all three break chances and plucked entire serves without facing any barrier.

Summing up the Belgian’s performance, Rochus manifested a much better first serve share of 77 per cent as compared to the Slovak’s 46 per cent and impressively marked 20 out of 27 points
on it. He also fully capitalised on the several unforced errors Rochus committed and finished the match with 51 points.

Next in queue for the top seed is the German rising star, Mischa Zverev, who stunned the fifth seed, Igor Kunitsyn, with a bagel to set-up this meeting. Zverev lost his serve once but broke
the Russian’s serve five times to clobber a 6-4, 6-0 score line in an hour-long marathon.
Rochus compatriot, David Goffin, will accompany him in the final four at this event. He capitalised on five out of eleven break chances and kept his entire serves, consequently sealing the
deal with a 6-0, 6-2 success in one hour and 10 minutes.
