Ollie Olga keen to carry on unbeaten record
With cent percent success ratio, Ollie Olga seems to be an unshakable runner at the moment. To many sport fans, the legendary trainer Mick Channon’s bay and brown filly is born to win only. She will prove this true by earning fourth straight career win when
she runs in the Barrett Steel May Hill Stakes (Group 2) (Fillies) at Doncaster racecourse on Friday, September 14.
In the class 1 contest, a total of 10 runners are going to compete for the £39,697. The 1-mile track has a good surface that suits well to Ollie Olga who has been at the top of her game since debuting in July 2012.
The American runner won her maiden race entitled as Ufton Court Educational Trust E B F Maiden Fillies' Stakes that took place at Newbury. She came to limelight after finishing first in the NSPCC Irish Stallion Farms EBF Conditions Stakes. She outplayed
the hot favourite rival, Rocky Ground, by a head’s margin to win the class 3 race that went down at Newmarket.
The talented daughter of Stormy Atlantic out of Card Shop went on to complete her hat-trick with the title of Whiteley Clinic Prestige Stakes (Group 3) (Fillies). This time again, she beat the best-priced candidate Sky Lantern.
Thus, the fantastic filly is well known for upsets. Hopefully, she will replicate her traditional performance in today’s marathon as well. On the paper, she looks to be quite insurmountable, but still, she will have to face a lot of resistance from Tuttipaesi
who is keen to bring home fourth straight success.
The Marco Botti trained brown filly started her career in May 2012 from Capannelle and broke her maiden during the same month by winning Premio Timboroa (Conditions).
At the same venue again, the novice runner registered her second victory on June 2. That was the Alessandro Perrone (Listed Race) (Fillies).
The Valor Ladies owned Irish runner went on to complete hat-trick by finishing first in the Premio Mantovani (Listed Race) (Fillies) (Turf) on July 1.
At the moment, she is brimming with momentum, and this does not augurs well for Ollie Olga. So a rip-roaring spar is imminent.
