  1. First of all he did not resign, he said he wouldn't run.  He still has time to cause more trouble just like Bush.

I can live with a corrupt politician.  If they weren't corrupt to start with they would all get jobs that pay better with less stress.

I hate a weak leader that sends troops into danger then doesn't back them up or let them finish the job.

That needs correcting badly and I only see one that will do it.

I recommend a general election so he can be elected and the people can get what they ask for.

    Please not Blitzy.

  2. Something to watch:  the most important primary of the

2008 election may be yet to come - in mid-to-late-

September, the Kadima party primary in Israel.

Israel has three political parties:  (1) Likud, the

    right-leaning, conservative party (think Benjamin

Netanyahu), (2) Labor, the left-leaning, socialist

party, and (3) Kadima, more of a centrist party than

either of the aforementioned.  (Kadima holds the

majority in the Knesset and as such, seats the Prime

    Minister.)

There are two primary Kadima candidates:  (1)

    Left-leaning Tzipi Livni and (2) right-leaning Shaul

Mofaz.  (Olmert, the current Prime Minister and Kadima

member, is trying to stay out of jail and will not factor into the election, especially after resigning.)

If Livni wins the primary, the possibility of Israel

attacking Iran's nuclear sites is low; however, if

Mofaz wins, military action becomes much more likely.

The question moves from "if" to "when."

So when?  And this is where it gets interesting

because how Israel reads the U.S. elections becomes

    critically important.

    (1) Scenario One:  It is a given that Israel has

little or no confidence that an Obama presidency will

provide the support required to pull off a strike on

Iran's nuclear facilities.  So if Obama wins the

election, Mofaz is going to feel pressured to attack

before Bush leaves office in January 2009.  (If McCain

wins, the pressure to attack this year is less.)

    (2) Scenario Two:  With Obama less likely to take a

position for or against Israel before the election

-remember, he is walking a tight-rope with the Jewish

vote - Mofaz might be compelled to make a move against

Iran before the presidential election is decided,

especially if he feels Obama may win.

Obviously this is speculation but the balls are in the

air and the election results in Israel are worth watching.

  3. Let him rest in peace.

He was corrupt like all Israeli politicians

  4. Thank GOD! its about d**n time!

  5. Hallelujah! Hallelujah from upon most high!!! The good Lord is deciding to finally stop tormenting his Chosen People with this idiot!

Maybe now a hardliner nationalistic right winger will assume the office of Israeli PM!

    Amen to that!

  6. I think getting Olmert out, who allowed thousands of Palestinian rockets to come down on Sderot and did nothing (among other things), is a good thing.  I hope Israelis stop listening to our US administration that tells them to have tolerance and do what's right for their country.

  7. It's about time, he should have been forced to step down a long time ago.

Now let's see which left wing backstabbing enemy loving clown takes his place.

  8. cant trust an Israeli.

  9. FREE PALESTINE!!!

  10. Israel democracy is like Ali Papa democracy. It is ok to steel from the out side but to steel from the inside is a big no.

  11. This was long overdue!!!!!

    What a relief!!!!!

I sure hope Bibi gets elected!!!!!

  12. Waaassssssup, Israel!  Is Netanyahu coming back?

  13. Livni will give much less, so will Mopaz, bad times for the cousins.

    BIBI LASHILTON

  14. They are all corrupt.  He has been pushed out simply because they want to start a war with Iran and they don't want him to lead it; after losing against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
