The 29-year-old has heaped praise on the Scottish mentor, and has insisted that the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 player’s calmness and composure has played a vital role in WBA’s consistent results thus far.
West Bromwich Albion central defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonas-c18967 Olsson, has hailed his side’s head coach, Steve Clarke, following the club’s rise to as high as third in the Premier League standings in the ongoing season.
The 29-year-old, who joined WBA in the summer of 2008 after representing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/NEC-c40018 Nijmegen in close to 100 Eredivisie games, has revealed that the Scottish trainer’s calmness and coolness under severe pressure has helped the team to secure consistent results.
“He is just calm and to me that's an indication of intelligence. When you are composed you think before you speak and are confident in the way you are playing. He is very calm, so can do anything under pressure. We want to be up there as long as possible”,
Olsson was quoted as saying to the media.
Clarke took the reins of the Throstles before the start of the 2012/13 season from Roy Hodgson, and has done wonders to help the club compete successfully in the highest echelons of English football.
After finishing 10th on the league table in the 2011/12 season, not even the most optimistic WBA fans were expecting their beloved team to be mounting a title assault.
However, the former West Ham United boss did tremendously well to guide his side to claim 10 wins from their first 13 league games. However, three successive defeats at the hands of Swansea City, Stoke City and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 then halted their progress towards
the summit of the Premier League table.
Nonetheless, the 49-year-old tactician yet again managed to take his side out of the crises to claim back-to-back victories.
Occupying the sixth spot on the Premier League table, they are currently trailing the table-toppers, Manchester United, by a mammoth 13 points.
However, with the Scottish trainer on board, it seems like that the Baggies will certainly manage to finish in the top four Premier League sides at least at the end of the ongoing 2012/13 season.
