Before the games the press were going on about how bad the air quality is in Beijing, now the games have started, no mention of it at all on Brit TV, has the air quality improved? or are they just avoiding insulting the Chinese while they are in the country?

  1. Only just avoiding .

There must be very bad. lol.

  2. yes the air quality has improved or otherwise the athletes would be dying of breath!

How do you explain of the countless world records broken already?

  3. Psh. The media already insults China while they are in the country. But due to the fact that Beijing is a dead city when half the cars are off the road and the closed down all they factories and stopped construction. The air surprisingly got better. The "smog" you see on TV is just really humidity. Since Beijing is surrounded by mountains, it traps in humidity. So that's why the air is so thick in Beijing and it feels like your breathing a lot of pollution when you're not. The media really made a fool of themselves. They insult the air quality, but now no athlete got sick.

  4. I don't believe that, it's humidity, bcoz we're western always jealousy CHINA, go Beijing .. go CHINA.

  5. NBC America did make mention for several minutes on Beijing air quality being worst than Los Angeles / San Francisco's.  Also mentioned was the fact that China ships out their Olympic stars out the country to train in cleaner air environmental areas; sure sign they acknowledge Beijing's poor air quality.

In fair turn, NBC did make mention that for several months prior to the Games, Beijing made several huge air cleanup efforts---and from the live TV shots of the city I've seen, the air DOES look cleaner.

  6. well... the air quality improved slightly thanks to the pouring rain during the weekend. But it's still pretty bad compared to the UN and American standards. However, that air won't actually hurt the athletes or anything. Lots of people live in Beijing and there hasn't been many cases of death/injury by air.

  7. It actually turned better

  8. I think they are avoiding it becuase china has done everything they can to help improve the air while the olympics are there.. They cut down on like half the cars allowed to drive I guess.. and also just down the factories that were a huge part of the problem.. so im sure the air has been able to clear up a lot.. but once the olympics are done im sure it will go back to the same as it was before!!

  9. when you do some basic maths with China's population index to its pollution its considerably low then any other country USA and Australia....also people think that China is like toxic as soon as you breath you will die lol that is bullshit....Los Angles and New York are equally polluted but its the media that makes it look clean and blue sky...the power of the media....you can make China look clean with media but they choose to be biased and a******s....

Question australian atheltes stay in hong kong cause they dont want to be exposed to the pollution in beijing cause it might affect their performance...but hong kong is just as polluted if not more then beijing its just the propoganda and western media that make hong kong look and feel cleanier. but really its not....

atheletes staying at hong kong are actually suffering more then atheletes in beijing....its mind games you go to games think of pollution and more body starts to play tricks on you....little bit unwell and you think its pollution and etc....you wouldnt think this way or feel if western media said it was clean and blue....power of the media hypnotizing and mind

  10. Apparently they have cancelled the kite flying event.

  11. they get the sly digs in. Today they mentioned that the air was clear.

  12. The air has improved so that people can tay a little longer without feeling the effects of the pollution. Of course once the events are over then its back to normal-heavy pollution. I know I was in Beijing in March for two months. Ater two days I lost my voice. The three doctors said it was just the pollution. After a month my voice improved. Never again though.

  13. Yes they improved

  14. always jealousy.

  15. China installed heroic measures to clean up the air.  NBC still gets in digs about it every so often even though they a broadcasting from there.
