Olympic Glory set to conquer Veuve Clicquot Vintage Stakes
Olympic Glory will be eying to continue a successful run in the sport, by winning the Veuve Clicquot Vintage Stakes (Group-2) at Goodwood in England on Wednesday, August 1, 2012. The winner of the class-1 event will bag a cash prize of £34,026 in the end.
The going will be good in the 7 furlong race and a total of 10 runners will be battling out for glory. The action is scheduled to start at 14:35 GMT and the spectators at Goodwood will be looking forward to it.
Most of the participants are young and inexperienced, which will make things interesting at the end of the day. However, Olympic Glory seems to be a quality performer and he has done well for his team until now. He has been given a general starting price
of 7 to 2 by the bookmakers, as they expect him to be fighting at the front. He will definitely be a good choice for the punters, as they have a chance of winning easy money over him.
The two-year-old colt has only represented his team in three races and his performances in them have been up to the mark. He has managed to win a couple of them whereas finished runner up once, which clearly shows what he can be capable of achieving today.
The Richard Hannon’s trainee first appeared onto the scene in June this year and was extremely quick in his first ever outing. He was rated as the favourite to win and lived up to the expectations of the bookies, taking the top spot by 3¼ lengths.
In his next race, the young challenger was not given the best odds, as the level of competition was quite high. However, he did not panic and performed brilliantly in that event as well, finishing runner up by just three quarters.
Following two very good runs, Olympic Glory was in full flow and earned the best odds for his next race as well. He had to struggle a bit because of the heavy conditions, but still managed to win by a head distance in the end.
Things seem to be working well for Choisir’s son and he will be a tough nut to crack under Richard Hughes.
