Olympic Glory under the spotlight in the Group 2 32Red.Com Superlative Stakes
The Group 2 32Red.Com Superlative Stakes has assembled a line-up of eleven two-year-old runners who will race through seven furlongs on Saturday, 14th July at Newmarket. Trainer, Mahmood Al Zarooni and Aidan O’Brien have covered ground with Artigiano, and Lines Of Battle. The Mahmood Al Zarooni trained is backed by 7 to 1 odds.
Enjoying the competitive edge due to the 13 to 8 chances of prevailing in the race today is the two-year-old bay colt, Olympic Glory. The Irish colt is perhaps the most lightly raced entry on the line-up with two races on the profile, a victory and a second score in the right next one.
Choisir’s bay colt won the Fair Trade Practice E B F Maiden Stakes on 8th June, 2012 at Goodwood over six furlongs. The favourite entry of the race was paired up with jockey, Richard Hughes.
The duo did not fall into an early pace right on after racing from the second gate, they geared up when there were the final two furlongs to go. The rider shook the ride for heading front and Olympic Glory proved nothing less than receptive as he held on to the pace and dominance firmly, and broke the maiden by a margin of 3 ¼ lengths.
Dark Emerald was deprived of the chance and settled as the runner-up.
The impressive success in the career debut maiden got the Richard Hannon trained an entry in the graded company which marked his second outing of the season.
The ease, comfort and confidence with which the Acidanthera foaled raced in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes seemed to be the style of an accomplished and experienced race horse though it was just his second attempt at racing.
The six furlong race at the Royal Ascot race course on 19th June, 2012, saw Dawn Approach winning. However, it was not easy for him to keep the ever so challenging rival, Olympic Glory, from being the first one through the wire.
The Denis McDonnell bred was not really generous and kept away only by ¾ of a length.
His composure on the track assured that racing over seven furlongs will hardly be an issue for the two-year-old.
The bay colt will become the mount for the stable jockey, Richard Hughes and the two will steer their way from the tenth gate.
