Olympic competition, not sure what the name is?

Question

I keep seeing commercials for the olympics on NBC, and they show a series of olympic sports being playing....track, swimming, etc. They show a man who is swinging a weight on the end of a rope, he is spinning in circles and then throwing it high in the air.

What is that sport called??? I want to be able to watch it, but I don't know what to look for in the schedules online.

Back in the day, they actually threw a sledgehammer.

Now it's an iron ball on a chain.

It's the hammer throw  BTW it's a chain not a rope.

The hammer throw is where there is a chain attached to the weight.
