Olympic gymnastics upset?

Is it just me or is anyone else extremely mad about the way olympic gymnastics is turning out. First of all I am HUGE fan of Shawn Johnson and I truly think she should have gotten gold for the all around competition! She beat Nastia every time except once in her first year of senior competition and this shouldn't have been any different! She was robbed on all of her scores for her routines especially on floor.

Then on vault Alicia Sacramone landed both of her vaults and then Cheng Fei of China fell on her knees and still got a better score!!! So Alicia didn't even get to medal! It wasn't fair.

Then tonight Shawn was in the lead for gold for the entire time but the last performer got a higher score. Do the judges have something against her? The romanian gymnast Sandra Izbasa didn't have as high of a start value as Shawn and her routine wasn't executed much better.

On top of all of this I highly doubt that all of the Chinese gymnasts are16. But no one is really doing anything! Ugh I can't believe it!

Oh and by the way can some one please tell me if Shawn qualified for beam? I haven't heard anything. She better have because she is amazing at it!

Anyways what are your thoughts on this?

I agree 100%. Alicia should have won at least bronze. Cheng Fei fell and still won bronze. Are you kidding me? Also Shawn Johnson should have won the floor exercise. And yea Shawn qualified for the beam. It's Tuesday.

I thought the same thing tonight. This girl from China falls on her knees on the vault and medals while alicia slightly hopped on both and didn't. Bela Caroli even said afterwards it was a rip off and even started tearing up.

Why are all of you pointing fingers at the chinese girl who took bronze when it was the north korean girl who took the gold even though she stepped out of bounce TWO TIMES? Why are you not complaining about that?

There is no bias here, it's simply the stupid new scoring system. All the girls who performed mostly did vaults with a higher difficulty than Alice. You can have a difficulty 1 point higher than Alice's and fall on the landing and take a 0.8 deduction and still get the same or better scores as a "perfect" vault with a 1 point lower difficulty.

The Romanian gymnast actually did have a slightly higher start value. Also, she stuck all of her landings perfectly.

Cheng Fei also had a higher start value on her vault.

I think the European judges are more attracted to Nastia's body type. Shawn is really beefy. And even if her moves are good, Nastia just looks more elegant.

I do think the Chinese gymnasts are underage, but it is impossible to prove. Bela Karolyi says the rule should be done away with, but they are obviously getting away with cheating. It hasn't seemed to help them that much though.

Ultimately, the judging is subjective. And there isn't much that can be done about that.

I totally disagree.  Alicia completely screwed up the team efforts, and her vaults were not as hard as Cheng Fei.  Period.  Stop whining about it.

Second, Nastia was better than Shawn.  Just because YOU like Shawn better doesn't mean she's a better gymnast.  Nastia beat Shawn, and Cheng Fei beat Alicia.  Get over it.

Acting like a whiny, sniveling American isn't going to help anyone's cause.

Shawn didn't get credited for some passes, i.e. they were incomplete. Like she was underrotated on one pass and that is where she may have lost the gold. The Romanian's routine was clean, albeit boring.

Shawn indeed deserved the gold medal. Alicia, in my opinion, beat Cheng Fei. Shawn deserved the gold medal tonight and of course those Chini gymnasts are underage!!! I'm not sure about the beam part.

Heres my thoughts I think being as it is China there is a favor with the judges over the chineese gymnist in any possiable way they can help them discretely. I think there is a certain disliking of the US. team but im not sure. I personaly think Shawn should of took gold tomight but that might just be because she is my favorite. And I am one of the biggest Shawn Johnson Fans so rest assured i know! On Tuesday night primetime Shawn and Nastia Liukin will both compete on beam.
