Olympic help plz help 10 points?

I have to write a current evet for my american history class. We are not suppose to write about (sports, weather and entertainment... do u think writing about 2 olympians who won medals in baton rouge (where i live) is sports? am i aloud to do it.

Yea Olympics would be considered sports because the people participating in the Olympics are athletes.

I think you would be disqualified if you do your report on these 2 Olympians because it related to sports. I think the topic should be about the civil war, rights or something in that extend that defined America as a nation. One suggestion is how america became a 52 states nation and or which state is the latest state that made up the 52 states, how and why?

Um I think the Olympics fall into the category of sports lol. I think your teacher wants you to write about a current event about HISTORY. For example, the Democratic and Republican Conventions that are going on this week is a good topic.

No, you CAN'T write about Olympians, because they're athletes, and that falls into the category of sports.  But you can write about the DEMOCRATIC National Convention, which takes place THIS whole week.  The Republican National Convention happens after the Democratic one, NOT this week!
