Olympic opening/closing ceremonies?

Have you ever seen a more elaborate waste of time and money than the olympic opening/closing cerimonies? Did any of that actually make sense?

that was a waste b/c we didn't even get to see half of those countries compete and we didn't get to see all competitions

i don't believe it was a waste. it was fun and it was a cool cultural experience. i believe that it did symbolize the past and the hope-to-be future. and ya gotta admit those were the best graphics ever. about the time and money thing, they had to make it seem big and it was.i mean phelps got 8 gold medals!

War is a waste of time and money and it doesn't make sense too.

So it's better spent on Olympics.
