Wikipedia says Torres is her maiden name.  It could be that when her ancestors immigrated, their name was changed.  That happened quite a lot.

She spells her last name the same way French Chocolatier Jacques Torres does so its possible she's of French descent and not Spanish/Latin.

I really wonder what you mean by asking this question. Religion is very different from nationality, and despite Dara (correct spelling) having a Spanish last name - which was her birth name, she, as is her father, is Jewish. She has been married twice, to Jeff Gowen, and to an Israeli surgeon named Iza Shasha. She is not currently married.
