Olympic table - Britain?

Are Britain likely to finish third in the olympic table for gold medals, or can Germany or Australia overtake them?

Theirs always a chance that Germany or Australia can overtake after most golds have come from cycling and thats almost over, in saying that however it is refreshing that GB which doesnt feature so highly in recent years is actually making an impact so well done GB!!

They have a tough fight to remain in that position after the track and field events are done; however, neither Australia or Germany are traditionally good at those events.

Either way, i hope they can retain that spot because they thoroughly deserved it and for once an underdog nation will have finished in the top 3.

Maybe, I gave the answer 14 gold medals for the brits to a question on here before the games started so heres hoping they get only 2 more golds as they are on 12 at the mo.

well there is still plenty of action to come.,  we just won another gold in the sailing, so am keeping my fingers and toes crossed we remain in third place

Germany would need two more golds and a few more silvers to be higher and Australia would need one more gold. Let's think positive though, there's always chance of more medals for us.
