Olympic tennis Medals? Zilch?

Certainly appears there will be no medals awarded to an American for tennis this Olympics. For the women, Williams Sisters, as well as Davenport have knee injuries, so there goes that. Highly doubt Pebbles, King, Craybas, Mattek could do much if going. Not to mention the inconsistent men we have. As I said many times American tennis is dying and no up and comers, promising stars to speak of. Sad. Thoughts?

Hm, I guess you're right.  There aren't any real up-and-comers right now, but I think the Williams sisters still have a shot--they'll probably be ready in time for the Olympics.

You don't know what you're talking about.  We've had two americans consistently in the top ten for most of the past couple of years.  as for up and comers... maybe you haven't heard of Ryan Harrison who won a round in Houston at the age of 15.  He's ranked in the top 10 in the world in jrs as well.  There's also a 7 year old named Jan Silva who is already being recognized as the next great thing in tennis... youtube him.

The problem with american tennis now, is that these kids get too much publicity and they lose focus on the tennis.  I watched a Serbian player Filip Krajinovic beat Ryan Harrison in the round of 16 at Wimbledon this year, just b/c he was more composed and mentally tough on the court.  Then again how do you expect Ryan to focus when he had Brad Gilbert and that Fowler guy from ESPN watching him.  

When you ask questions, you should know what you're talking about, and not just make generalized statements from what you hear.

Oh im sorry what do you call up and comers?  You want an 18 year old in the top 10?  is that what you're talking about?  Querrey is only 21 and he's ranked 38th now.  why don't you go to atptennis.com and search rankings by country and see how many players are in the top 150 in the world for the US.  You're a joke.
