Olympic volleyball??? help please??

i am watching olympic womens volleyball( italy vs. brazil) and i noticed that the short ones on both teams were wearing a different colored uniform than the rest of the team. is this just a coincedence or are they "heightist" (discriminating against heights)

it means that they are like interchange..they are called libero's.

they can only play in the defensive side ( behind the 3 meter line).

I was asking my dad this before because i was unsure too and he told me..and i was asking what the point of it was..but..thats just how it is. They wear different coloured uniform to show that they are..

The libero on each team wears a different coloured top to distinguish them from the other players.

That means thier the libero. The don't have to stand at the line to sub in and they only play back row. They are defensive specialist.

Has something to do with the position they play.  Not clear on this but I think they might be setters and can't play the net.
