So I was wondering why a male is competing against her. Then I saw He was a name. But they used Luikin's last name. Why use He's first name? We have the family name last. In the Chinese names is the family name last or first.

  1. in china, the family name comes first...

so in the states her name would be kexin he

  2. LOL no offense, when I read the article I was like "He"? lol

I think they go by Last names(correct me if I'm wrong)

  3. The family name is listed first. In this case, He is the family name. (And thus considered the last name.)

I know, kinda confusing unless your used to it.

  4. Because in Western countries they like to put Chinese first name as last names. And that is why there's so many 'Chen' for an Asian race.

  5. "He" (pronounced 'her') is He Kexin's surname.

Traditionally, the Chinese, Japanese, and Koreans do not use the first name-middle name-last name format. Rather, their names are written surname (aka family name) followed by a given name such as in He's case.

  6. idk, i noticed that too and thought that He was the last name, its really confusing

  7. In China, the last name is traditionally written first.
