Olympics XXIX : In your estimate, what kind of this larger-than-life person Phelps Michael seems to be ?

Just curious to know what you think of Phelps, the talk of the whole sporting world?

Human or superhuman or legendary or alien or divine or machine or robot or monster or just a cut above others or someone else?

To me, he is very much a human, sort of a 'Wonder Guy'!

No he is just a dedicated swimmer and is doing what he loves the best. He has trained himself to be the best in his field.Nothing spectacular but just a human being .He has the drive to break records and bring home the gold. That's all nothing odd about that.

cant nock the guy he is truly great at what he does and is head and shoulders above the rest , 5 golds so far on for 8 (officially the greatest olympian of all time)

yeh i think he is a 'wonder guy , legendery,and a machine programed for success

Michael Phelps is incredible! He is so down to earth and so nice! Plus his body is a nice little bonus!

He's full of himself.  That girl who wrote "down to earth" obviously has never met him or anything.  I guess I can't blame him though.  I would probably be that way if I were the fastest swimmer too.

hard work pays off.

he works hard, and he gets what he deserves =) he's also really humble, which i think is a big & admirable quality, since his accomplishments are so high.

i think he is lovely very modest and will do wonders for the sport with regards to more young boys taking it up as its traditionally more of a female past time

He's a normal guy who can swim fast. I've had a class with him.
