Olympics medal count ?

i find it really weird. in the past they always showed the country with the most number of gold medal as 1st, not the total. why in yahoo and everywhere else, they show US as 1st when china has more gold medals. Just wondering, that's all.

Because the US media is trying to convince people that silver and bronze medal winners are also Olympic Champions.

Everyone else knows there will only be 302 Olympic Champions or gold medal winners.

In every country outwith the US they're using the conventional method that ranks countries according to number of gold medals. 300 million Americans think the US is winning- 5.7 billion other people in the world think they're coming second.

Considering that the IOC doesn't condone or endorse ANY country medal count from ANY media source, how come the "rest of the world" is suddenly so arrogant to claim that only the US media is wrong?  ANYBODY who prints a medal count using whatever criteria they see fit is going against the IOC's wishes.

It is automatically sorted by number of golds in countries outside the US. As far as I'm concerned, however, we are winning.

because usa has the most total medals, so i guess thats considered better. but i agree, the country with the most gold medals should be considered as in first.
