Olympique Lyon coach Remi Garde eyes http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AJ-Auxerre-c38247’s Delvin N’Dinga - Ligue 1 News
Debuting http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 manager, Remi Garde, is contemplating a bid for AJ Auxerre’s Delvin N’Dinga to solve the defensive woes at the Rhone club, According to reports in French media.
N’Dinga is a product of Auxerre youth academy, which is famous for producing the likes of Djibril Cisse, Eric Cantona and Laurent Blanc. In the 2010/11 season, the 23-year-old appeared in 26 games for Auxerre.
The young Congolese midfielder has good control of the ball and excellent tackling skills, making him a difficult opponent to beat. Earlier this month, Les Gones had offered 5 million Euros to AJ Auxerre for the Congolese international but the bid was rejected.
AJA are looking for a fee in the region of 8 million Euros.
The 45-year-old replaced Claude Puel this summer and will be playing the role of head coach for the first time in his career. He does not have as much financial liberty as his predecessor had, who spent around 80 million in his 3 years at Lyon.
Bernard Lacombe, special advisor to the President Jean-Michel Aulas, said regarding the situation of les Gones, “In the last three years we have spent a lot of money, and won nothing. There are players we would like to move on, but they do not want to leave
as they are earning very good money here.”
He added, “There is no point waiting for us to spend large sums on top-level players because we simply cannot afford it now.”
The Rhone club have recently promoted 19-year-old midfielder Sidy Kone from the OL’s reserves team to be used in a defensive midfield role.
Speaking to the media, the French coach praised the talent of Sidy Kone, saying, “I am satisfied with Sidy Kone that we know well. He is a young player and we are satisfied, but that does not undermine the possible arrival of N'Dinga. The two clubs will
negotiate hopefully the outcome will be favourable.”
Lyon will be relieved to see their centre-back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Mensah-c18877 return from a two-year loan at English Premier League side Sunderland. The Ghanaian international will provide some stability to Les Gones defence. With defensive options short at Stade Gerland,
Lyon are treating the 28-year-old Mensah with special dedication in order to prevent any injuries before the start of the season.
Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 defender, Garde, is confident that the current team is strong enough to give a tough time to their opponents in the upcoming Ligue 1 season and UEFA Champions League Play-offs.
