Olympique Lyonnais Coach Remi Garde expects much from newly recruited Gueïda Fofana – Ligue 1 news
Remi Garde, coach of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130, has high hopes from the newly recruited defensive midfielder, Gueïda Fofana. The L'Arbresle-born French tactician already sees the former La Havre man as one of the future managers of the club Rhone club.
The 45-year-old Frenchman was quoted saying, “He’s a natural leader, with a mixture of technical and physical talents. He has great potential and can progress.”
The Seven-time Champions of France were keen on signing AJ Auxerre’s defensive midfielder, Delvin N’Dinga, in the summer transfer window following the departure of Jeremy Toulalan to La Liga side Malaga CF, but were not able to reach an agreement with the
Burgundy club.
The President of Auxerre, Gerad Bougoin, did not show any interest in the 12 million Euros offer (8 million Euros outright and 4 million Euros in bonuses) made by the Rhone club. Lyon had to make arrangements in the final hours of the transfer window and
were able to scoop the captain of France U20 squad, Gueïda Fofana.
Although the French tactician tailed the Congolese international N’Dinga all summer, Fofana might prove to be a blessing in disguise.
“He's a player I've known for some time. He belongs to the category of players born in 1991 who have a very good run in the national team,” said the coach of Les Gones.

Coach Remi Garde was quoted saying, “He may not be in top form right now but he has sixty two League matches experience behind him.”
Les Gones were not able to replicate their lavish spending from last year, as the Rhone club faced tough financial crises which permitted them to recruit only three new signings in the summer transfer window.
Lyon had to bid farewell to some of their key players including Bosnian national Miralem Pjanic to Serie A side AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 and defensive midfielder Jeremy Toulalan to La Liga side Malaga CF.
