The Rhone giants were unsuccessful in convincing the UAE side into letting go of the talent. However, it now seems that Lyon might be able to sign the youngster after long last.
Al Kamali is considered to be one of the best young talents in Asia at the moment and is in FIFA’s list of top 100 talents which certainly makes him an exciting future prospect.
Remi Garde is also a great fan of the youngster who has a powerful shot on him apart from being good in the air.
Initially, Les Gones wanted to sign the youngster on loan. However, the French giants are now willing to sign the player permanently after the UAE side made their intentions on the player clear.
The National reveals that the transfer could be finalised in the next few days.
“After our game on Friday, he (Hamdan Al Kamali) came to me and said that this was probably his last game for Al-Wahda. Lyon seem to have made him a very serious offer,” said Al-Wahda coach Josef Hickersberger.
The Austrian coach’s statements certainly confirm that Olympique Lyonnais are on the verge of signing a talented defender who has already been touted for a great career ahead.
