Ligue 1 giants Olympique Lyonnais defender Aly Cissokho has indicated his desire to leave the Rhone club with English Premier League side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 FC the 23-year-old’s most likely destination.
Rumours in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 earlier last week suggested that newly-appointed Les Gones coach Remi Garde would be forced to sell a few players before delving in to the transfer window. Aly Cissokho was one of those players who were supposed to be sacrificed in order
to make funds for the summer spending.
Aly Cissokho has now also voiced his desire to leave Stade Velodrome. Liverpool have been in the market for a new left-back following the departure of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Konchesky to Nottingham Forest. The former Fulham man had a torrid time in his first spell at Anfield
last season and Kenny Dalglish deemed him surplus to requirements before shipping him out to Nottingham.
Aly Cissokho is eager to move on to a new challenge in his footballing career and while talking to Rhone-based newspaper Le Progress, the France international said, “I am happy to be in a great club with great players but I do give preference to the English
League. I have an idea in my head but for now I will prepare myself for the next season. The situation is somewhat special but I have to prepare myself for next season wherever I play.”
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 defender joined Lyon from Porto in the summer of 2009 for 15 million Euros. Since then, the youngster has become one of the most talented defenders in Ligue 1. However, Cissokho was criticised a lot by fans and media last season due to
his inconsistent performances for the Rhone giants.
According to rumours, Liverpool have offered 10 million Euros for the signature of the highly-rated defender which might be appealing enough for Les Gones to start negotiations with the English side.
Italian Serie A side AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 might make things easier for Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish who is looking to rebuild a Liverpool side that is going through
a transitional period.
