Florent Balmont currently plays for 2010/2011 French champions LOSC Lille. The Frenchman is considered by many as an unsung hero of Les Douges. The 32-year-old is like a rock in Lille’s midfield sweeping up the midfield and allowing attacks to be drive forward.

LOSC Lille hope to hold on to their midfielder who made 30 appearances in Ligue 1 last season and scored a goal as well. However, after talks over a new deal have stalled, Florent Balmont has admitted that he is considering his options with Les Douges.
While talking to reporters, Balmont admitted that with all the uncertainties going on at the club, he is mulling over his options. Even though the Frenchman does not want to leave his current club, it is expected that if talks break down between the player
and the club, the midfielder will seek his future somewhere else.
"I do not want to leave. I am having talks with the club over a new deal. But so far I see no progress. I do not know if I will remain a Lille player next season or not.”
At the age of 32, Frenchman is reaching the twilight stages of his career. Furthermore, Les Dogues are more focused on promoting young players at the club.
"At my age, I can't make any mistakes. If we can find an agreement, there will be no trouble. But if I have to leave, I will leave.”
However, due to his extensive experience in Ligue 1, Blamont’s profile would be appreciated by Remi Garde who will see his side lack experience in the midfield if Kallstrom leaves. Furthermore it would be fitting that Balmont ends his playing career at the
same club where he started it.
