The French giants are keen to acquire the services of the young Mexican who has attracted several suitors in recent times
The 18-year-old, who plays as a midfielder but can also operate in defence, has revealed that the Ligue 1 outfit is interested in attaining his services and has contacted him regarding that.
Lyon are witnessing a major shake-up in their ranks with several first-team players set to leave the Ligue 1 outfit. Club president, Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed that OL will consider selling their top players if a club comes with a right price.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michel-Bastos-c25461 and Lisandro Lopez are reportedly set to follow the Brazilian.
Les Gones are in the market for several young talents and the bosses at the club have identified http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Francisco-Flores-c13988 as the player who can add much needed young blood to the French side.
Francisco Flores, who plays for his hometown club Cruz Azul, enjoyed a successful 2011/2012 campaign prompting Lyon to make an approach for the player.
While talking to reporters, the Mexican revealed that the Ligue 1 outfit is following him for some time and is constantly in contact with him over a possible summer switch to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899.
“They told me they would keep an eye on me”, Flores told reporters.
“This year they’ve been in contact with me and they told me that they think I am doing very well”, he added.
However, despite strong interest from the French side, the 18-year-old is not getting carried away. The midfielder knows that he is still a Cruz Azul player and there is no concrete offer from the Rhone giants so far.
Flores stated that being linked to Lyon is not affecting his game here as he is fully committed to El Azul and will continue to perform to his very best for the Mexican club.
“I’m thinking of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cruz-Azul-c38869 first, but if I am lucky, this opportunity (to sign for Lyon) may present itself and I’d be happy to accept.”
Lyon are set to kick-start their 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign on August 11 and will be hoping to conclude all likely transfers before the opening day.
