path, and is doing equally well in the Europa League.
Despite Les Gones’ solid run this season, club president Jean-Michel Aulas is still worried. However, his worries are regarding the off-the-field issues, specifically stating,  the club’s financial debt.
Aulas stated that he might have to sell some players in the upcoming transfer window to clear a part of the increasing debt in OL’s books. The chairman said he regrets the decision but he has no other choice, and has to keep an eye over the club’s finances
as well.
Despite offloading players like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hugo-Lloris-c16408 last summer, the supremo insists that there is still more to be done, and has hinted out that three more players might be leaving Stade de Gerland in January, although he hasn’t
mentioned any particular names yet.
While explaining his responsibilities, Aulas said:
“As an entrepreneur, a club president, it is a part of my every day thinking. We are in a very good situation and at some stage you must know how to change their thinking.”
The chairman also praised les Gones’ youth, and is happy that the youngsters are able to provide much needed versatility to the squad. The Frenchman said:
“We are satisfied to see depth on the bench with these youngsters.”
The 63-year-old has shrugged off reports claiming that Lyon would not be able to perform this season due to financial problems that the club is currently facing. The president believes that he had proved critics wrong, those who thought Olympique Lyonnais
would not be able to perform well this season. He told the press:
“Last summer, everyone thought that we will not be competitive. But now you have seen. Sometimes there are a few decisions that you need to know how to take.”
