His first professional contract was with Lyon but he never established himself in the first-team and was ultimately sold to OGC Nice. At Nice, the youngster developed and got much-needed confidence before he signed for Olympique de Marseille in the summer
of 2010.

While talking to the media, Olympique Lyonnais president Jean-Michel Aulas was asked about the reasons behind selling Remy to Nice.
Aulas admitted that Remy was one of the best players in the youth academy and developed well. However, Aulas said that he could not keep the youngster and Remy thus took to a new club.
“Back then, we had Sydney Govou. There was only room for two players on the field and Loic had little play time. Both him and Govou had the same agent who wanted extensions for both. Then, the agent asked to let Loic go. This is the only regret I have. It
