English Premier League side Manchester City are looking to offload some of the players who might not be playing any part in the club’s attempt to win silverware in the upcoming 2010/2011 season.
Lack of playing time is something that’s becoming more and more common for Manchester City players. Roberto Mancini has really done well in capturing some of the best strikers in Europe. Any side in the world would be happy to have one or two of the strikers
City have at their disposal. Edin Dzeko, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Craig-Bellamy-c9471 and Jo would be more than welcomed by any club.
However, Manchester City are now looking to offload Craig Bellamy, Emmanuel Adebayor and Brazilian Jo as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/United-States-c3034.
Emmanuel Adebayor is already looking to make his switch to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 Madrid permanent while Craig Bellamy has openly declared that he will not leave the club and will leave City only if another club could afford his wages which are believed to be 80,000 Euros
a week.
Jo on the other hand, is keen on making a move away from the Eastlands. Since joining Manchester City from Russian side CSKA Moscow, Jo has found it hard to command a first team place in the City starting XI.
After failing to find much game time at the cash-laden club, the 24-year-old spent loan spells at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 and Galatasaray. However, Manchester City are now looking to sell the player who has scored just one league goal for the club in 21 games.
Reports in French media suggest that Manchester City offered the player to Ligue 1 giants Olympique Lyonnais. French newspaper The Progress reveals that Les Gones have politely declined City’s proposal. Rumours suggest that Jo’s hefty-wages could be one
of the reasons why the Rhone giants chose not to consider signing the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Corinthians-c38855 man.
While talking to the media regarding Jo’s prospects of arriving at the Stade Gerland, Lyon coach Remi Garde said, “In this position (striker), it will be an opportunity to see some young players so why not have a few surprises next season?”
With Lyon looking to give their own academy players a chance to shine next season, it seems that Manchester City will have to find another club that would like to get Jo off their hands.
