In a bid to rapidly adapt UAE international Hamdan Al-Kamali to the rigours of European football, Olympique Lyonnais have a tailored a program for the youngster in which he will first play for Pro 2 of Olympique Lyonnais
Ligue 1 giants, Olympique Lyonnais have been absolutely shrewd in their dealings in the last two transfer windows. Lacking the cash that the likes of Paris Saint-Germain or even LOSC Lille can afford, Les Gones have chosen to put their faith on the youngsters.
Lyon’s youth academy has been very helpful in this regard. The likes of Maxime Gonalons, Clement Grenier, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexandre-Lacazette-c4895 and Samuel Umtiti have proved to be stars of the future and will play a big role in Lyon’s quest for ending their trophy drought.
Now, it’s the turn of Hamdan Al-Kamali to step up to the plate. The youngster joined http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 in the January transfer window after a long transfer saga. However, having not played in Europe before, Remi Garde knows that the 22-year-old is not ready
to be thrust into first-team action.
Hamdan Al-Kamali is pleased at being able to secure a move to the Rhone giants. While talking to the media, the youngster said, “The welcome I received from the club motivated me to give even more for them than I could give to my former club. I want to live
up to what this great club is about.”
In order to give him some experience, Garde has devised a program for the UAE man in order to help him reach the required level to play for Les Gones’ first-team.
This information has also been confirmed by UAE national team coach Abdullah Misfir. While talking to the media, Misfir said that the Lyon management want to improve Kamali’s physical demeanour and also want to make him tactically stronger.
“Throughout the month of February, it will mean that they will work on this program. It will be hard for him as he is accustomed to a less professionalism that we have in our league. He will have to change his lifestyle but will get there and I am eager
to start seeing him play in Champions League or Ligue 1 for Lyon.”
However, the jury is still out on the young defender as he needs to do everything quickly in order to reach the level that Remi Garde expects.
