Olympique Lyonnais are eyeing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 Under-21 international, Alexandre Lacazette, as a replacement for Argentine international, Lisandro Lopez.
Lopez injured his left ankle in the last minute of Lyon’s win against Montpellier Herault SC at Stade de Gerland. This season, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 star has scored twice in four matches in the Ligue 1 Championelle so far.
With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 – and lack of funds haunting Les Gones all summer, the Rhone club had to look to their youth academy for a suitable striker.
The talent of young Alexandre Lacazette will be put to use in the upcoming games for Lyon. The 20-year-old has made six senior appearances for Lyon.
Lacazette came as a natural choice for Olympique Lyonnais coach Remi Garde. The young Frenchman has been phenomenal at under-21 level for France and has found the net nine times in just 12 games.
The Rhone club will be facing newly promoted Ligue 1 side Dijon FCO on the weekend. In an interview to local publication, Le Progress, the French tactician was quoted as saying, “Lisandro’s injury frees up a move to 4-4-2, which raises the need of an extra
attacker. I like to go with a striker around me and I have an opportunity I do not want to miss."
Alexandre Lacazette was tracked by La Liga side Atletico Madrid, but the young striker chose to stay at his home town. “This is the club I love, the management is counting on me and I preferred to stay here with my family,” said the 20-year-old Frenchman.
Lyon are currently in second place in the Ligue 1 standings with two draws and two wins in the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 campaign. The Rhone club will be playing against Dutch side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AFC-Ajax-c38228 in their opening game of the UEFA Champions League.

However, injury to Lopez could be considered as a blessing in disguise for Lacazette, who now has a great chance to impress after widely being considered as one of the hottest young prospects in French football.
