Olympique de Lyonnais midfielder Pape Diakhate being followed by the German Bundesliga
According to reports in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Senegal-c3001 International will bid farewell to the Rhone club at the end of the ongoing 2010/11 season. The
Senegal International is currently on loan at Lyon from Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kiev.
The 26-year-old midfielder has seen a chaotic journey from France to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032 to back in France but now it seems that German clubs are monitoring his situation and are likely to jump at the opportunity to sign the player. It has been reported that Bayer Leverkusen,
Wolfsburg and Hoffenheim are very keen on signing the African. Reports suggest that a fee in the region of 6 million Euros would be enough to acquire the player, who has fallen out of favour at the Rhone club.
The player started his senior career with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AS-Nancy-c38468 in 2001 and went on to play 6 seasons for the club, making 141 appearances in the process. His great form for the Ligue 1 outfit alerted Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv and the youngster was brought to the
club in the summer of 2007. However, his time at Kyiv was a forgetful experience to say the least. On September 1, 2007, Diakhate broke his collar bone and although he recovered, he failed to find his best form for the club and was loaned out to Ligue 1 giants
Saint-Etienne in January 2010.
Diakhate played all 18 league games for Saint-Etienne in the second half of the last season and scored one goal. Last summer, Kyiv management chose to extend the player’s loan spell and he was sent to Olympique de Lyonnais on loan. Since then, Diakhate has
failed to cement a starting spot in Claude Puel’s side and has featured only 17 times for Les Gones this season.
It is still not clear if Dynamo Kyiv will allow the player to leave the club but a good offer from the rumoured Bundesliga clubs might force the Ukrainians to let go of the Senegal International who has been capped 24 times by the Senegal national side.
