In the columns of Midi Libre, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international Olivier Giroud’s agent updated on the Montpellier striker’s future before revealing the interest of PSG, Lyon and Marseille in his client.
Montpellier Herault striker, Olivier Giroud, is the man of the moment in Ligue 1. Top scorer with 16 goals, it is hard for any club to ignore the striker. Rumours do not stop to circulate around him as he keeps on scoring goals.
Suddenly, the striker’s agent, William Sola has stepped into the breach. While talking to Midi Libre, Sola took stock of the whole situation and tried his best to calm the commotion that has been created in recent weeks.
Sola says that Olivier Giroud is only concentrating on the task at hand which is to make sure that Montpellier play in Europe and he plays in Euro 2012 for Les Bleus. However, Sola also added that after all the priorities are dealt with, they will look at
proposals.
“Olivier wants to stay focused only on the end of the season with Montpellier and the opportunity to play the Euros with Les Bleus. The four major championships are http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 where teams are interested in Olivier,” says Sola before
indicating that Ligue 1 clubs are also keeping tabs on the Frenchman.
Sola revealed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 and Paris Saint-Germain have inquired about the strikers.
PSG are already in the market for a new striker. In the January transfer window, PSG coach, Carlo Ancelotti was unable to land a big-name striker. However, the Italian has not given up hope and has also expressed his admiration for Giroud who has become
one of the most lethal strikers in Ligue 1 in a space of few months.
Olympique de Marseille on the other hand, know that they might not be able to keep Loic Remy at the Velodrome for long. Though they have Brandao in the squad, the Brazilian’s form is inconsistent. Andre-Pierre-Gignac has not featured for a long time so Deschamps
might consider bringing Giroud to the club.
However, Montpellier president, Loulou Nicollin might be able to convince his star striker to stay at the Mosson for one more season if La Paillade qualify for Europe.
