Olympique de Marseille Vs Paris Saint-Germain – Player ratings (http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127)

The first Clasico of this season’s Championelle once again proved that games between Olympique de Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain can never be dull affairs and will always be different from regular Ligue 1 games.
An Olympique de Marseille side that has been forced to a corner since the start of the campaign took on highflying and cash-laden Paris Saint-Germain at the Stade Velodrome in Week 15 of the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 campaign.
However, Marseille put all of their worries behind to give fans their best performance of the season so far. The final result was 3-0 to Marseille which is certainly the kind of scoreline that shows Marseille are going to be part of the title assault come
the final weeks of the campaign.
Marseille coach, Didier Deschamps handed Lucho Gonzalez his first start for Les Phoceens since mid-October and the Argentine international impressed a lot during the first half. Loic Remy scored the opening goal for the hosts before http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Morgan-Amalfitano-c26799 scored
his first and then second goal for Marseille in the second half to guide the Rhone giants to an emphatic 3-0 victory over a team that has gone through a major upheaval this summer.

The experienced French shot stopper finally had a quiet game for Les Phoceens largely due to the solid wall put infront of him. The Frenchman was rarely tested by a PSG attack that was clearly lacking in creativity throughout the game.
Cesar Azpilicueta (7.5)
Derided often since his arrival at Marseille, the young right-back from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 was a self assured presence in the defence and was a major threat while going forward. The Spanish Under-21 international showed why Deschamps put so much faith in him by supplying
Loic Remy with a delightful cross down the right which gave the home side a well-deserved lead in the 9th minute.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Souleymane-Diawara-c33850 (6)
The veteran Senegalese defender might not be able to do much about his age but his experience was sufficient to completely shutout http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Gameiro-c20721. Not once did Gameiro could find a way through the towering centre back who showed why the club is so eager to
give him a contract extension.
Nicolas N’Koulou (6)
Throughout the mini crisis at Marseille, N’Koulou has been a beacon of hope and the young defender formed a solid partnership with Diawara to keep PSG striker at bay.
Morel (7)
Since his arrival at the club, Morel has been criticised for not being up to the mark. However, the former Lorient man was solid in the defence and was a great asset while going forward throughout the game.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alou-Diarra-c5259 (7)
One of the scapegoats of the Marseille mini crisis, Diarra was in great form for Les Phoceens and proved his worth to the team with a good and solid display in the defensive midfield position.
Stephane M’Bia (6)
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Charles-c8808 Kabore in the 72nd minute.
Morgan Amalfitano (7.5)
Man of the match
Lucho Gonzalez (6.5)
Starting his first game for the club, the Argentine was involved in every attacking move for Marseille and was visibly pleased with his performance.
Andre Ayew (7)
The Ghanaian was once again in great form for his team and provided Amalfitano with an assist that made the score 3-0.
Loic Remy (NA)

Man of the match
Morgan Amalfitano
The former Lorient man was simply everywhere for Les Phoceens in the crunch game against PSG. The midfielder completely shutout Nene and then scored two crucial goals for his side.  With Amalfitano starting to show flashes of his performances that made him
such a star at Lorient last season, Deschamps would certainly be eager to see more of the same from him.
