Looking for a new striker next season, Olympique de Marseille are keeping tabs on Algerian international Rafik Djebbour who is currently playing his trade in the Greek Super League for Olympiacos
Reports in French media suggest that Algerian international striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rafik-Djebbour-c30428 is under the radar of Ligue 1 giants Olympique de Marseille who are keen on signing at least one striker in the next summer transfer window.
Les Phoceens might risk losing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international Loic Remy after the European Championships and Jose Anigo has already begun his search of finding a new striker. Furthermore, with Brandao’s future still up in the air along with that of Andre-Pierre Gignac,
the club is desperate to sign a good quality striker.
Djebbour is currently under the books of Greek Super League giants Olympiacos for whom he has scored nine goals in just 15 games.
Francefootball.fr reveals that the residents of the Stade Velodrome even sent a representative to oversee the Algerian striker’s performances for the Greek giants.
However, the striker will not come cheap as his contract will expire in June 2013. Reports claim that the Hellenic side will be looking for nothing less than 6 million Euros for the prolific striker who has really found his feet at Olympiacos.
Furthermore, LOSC Lille are also monitoring Djebbour’s progress. Les Dogues are certain to lose the services of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Eden-Hazard-c11863 and a few more players in the summer transfer window and coach Rudi Garcia will have a big task of rebuilding the side.
Djebbour’s preference may also decide his future as the striker is reportedly keen on playing for a club that plays in the UEFA Champions League next season.
Olympique de Marseille are currently far away from a Champions League place while LOSC Lille have a great chance of occupying the third and last Champions League spot ahead of the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127.
This means that Didier Deschamps’ and Jose Anigo’s expectations for the summer transfer window rely heavily on the club’s final position at the end of a 2011/2012 Ligue 1 campaign that is proving to be a wide open race for the Championnat between more than
two sides.
