After almost being on the verge of getting the sack, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 Football, the Frenchman spoke about his passion for the game
and people who influenced him
Didier Deschamps became coach of Olympique de Marseille in the summer of 2009 and in his first season in charge of Les Phoceens, the Frenchman guided Marseille to a Ligue 1 triumph.
However, since then, the Rhone club has seen itself struggle to assert its domestic authority. After a poor start to the current Ligue 1 campaign, Marseille have started showing signs of recovery and my well have done just enough to put themselves in the
position of mounting a title assault when Ligue 1 action resumes.
The first half of the campaign was certainly a turbulent one for both Deschamps and everyone related to Marseille. With the club failing to perform, Deschamps and Jose Anigo under pressure, had a fall out which was well-documented by the media.
However, things have now changed and both men are willing to do what’s best for the club.
While talking to the media, Deschamps spoke about football in general and the reason why he went into the profession of coaching.
“I’m addicted to football. I do not deny it, it takes a lot from me but it gave me a lot too. And, I’m not talking about money,” said Deschamps while talking to France Football. A man who in his playing days, played for the likes of Nantes, Marseille, Juventus
and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, had the honour of playing with some of the best players and coaches of his era.
While talking about his coaching influences, Deschamps spoke highly of Italian tactician Marcello Lippi under who he played during his time at Juventus.
“If I had one to remember, for all he represents in Marcello Lippi. In all modesty, compared to what he has done, he is a great man. He told me that there was not a universal method to train, but you need to take into account the environment in which you
are.”
Certainly, Deschamps is enjoying his football at the moment and his willingness to be at Marseille would definitely be an added bonus to a club that needs to at least qualify for the UEFA Champions League by the end of the current campaign.
