In an interview with La Provence, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 coach Didier Deschamps returned to talk about the club’s failure to sign Italian international Marco Borriello from AS Roma and spoke about difficulties in finding a striker this winter
While talking to the official site of Olympique de Marseille, Didier Deschamps had made it clear that the club is looking to sign one or two offensive players in the current winter transfer window.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gabon-c2902 in order to represent their country in the African Cup of Nations. The brothers’ departure would leave a major gap in Marseille’s offensive part and Deschamps
is keen on finding apt replacements for the duo.
Initially, Marseille had been keen on signing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603. The former AC Milan player had been out of favour under Luis Enrique and was keen on a move away from the Italian capital.
However, Marseille failed to capitalise on the situation and the striker is now nearing a move to Juventus. With little choice left, Deschamps might be forced to keep hold of Andre-Pierre Gignac, a striker who seems to find adjusting at the Stade Velodrome
a task too much.
While regretting the departure of Borriello, Deschamps said, “At the moment, Juventus want Borriello, there was no further discussion. You cannot fight. I expect to have quality and it is difficult (to get a quality player) because the cost is important
too. Finding a good player on loan who can solve the equation is also hard.”
Deschamps also cited the club’s financial issues that have hindered Les Phoceens’ activity in the transfer window. The French tactician said that the club cannot pay millions to an on-loan player anymore.
Circumstances are certainly tough for Deschamps who might still fail to bring any new player to the Stade Velodrome even though the window has only recently opened. Gignac also wants to leave the club for good and would certainly force a move as he no longer
wants to stay at a club where he never succeeded to settle down.
