The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is keen to leave Parc des Princes this summer in order to revive his career and a move to the Stade Velodrome may be on the cards
Billed as the symbol of Paris Saint-Germain along with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mamadou-Sakho-c23293, Clement Chantome lived a very complicated season at the Ile club. The 2011/2012 campaign saw the Frenchman make only eight starts in 15 Ligue 1 appearances.
Repeated injuries and increase in competition in the midfield meant that the young player was never really going to establish himself in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting XI.
Though the player is under contract at the club until 2015, Chantome is keen on ending his time at the cash-laden side. In limbo after a miserable season, Chantome does not know what the future holds for him. One thing is for certain though, the 24-year-old
wants to play and would be willing to make a move this summer.
Reports in French media claim that the player is set to hold talks with PSG sporting director http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 to take stock of his situation. The player wants to have guarantees of playing time and is not willing to settle down on crumbs (bench appearances) or
cup matches.
Furthermore, Chantome has been contacted by several major Ligue 1 clubs including Olympique de Marseille and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130.
L’Equipe understands that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 are already active behind the scenes to make a move for Chantome who won’t have any issues in joining his club’s bitter rivals.
Though it is still premature to talk about a bid from the Rhone giants, PSG will not ask for more than 4 million Euros for a player whose career has come to an odd situation since the arrival of the Qataris.
Marseille president, Vincent Labrune is keen on offloading the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Charles-c8808 Kabore this summer and would welcome the introduction of a player who would be willing to put his body on the line in order to revive his career.
Since making his debut, a lot has been expected of Chantome. However, with the way PSG are heading, the 24-year-old will never be able to become a big player at Parc des Princes.
