Olympique de Marseille keen to keep hold of Andre Ayew – Ligue 1 news
Along with Loic Remy, Ghana international Andre Ayew is certainly one of the most coveted players at Olympique de Marseille.
The directors at Marseille have been very clear indeed. With the departure of Andre Ayew to represent http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ghana-c2905 in the African Cup of Nations, the Rhone giants seek to digitally replace the midfielder/winger. However, if the arrival of a reinforcement will in
theory alleviate the short term absence of the youngster, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 fans fear that the player might not be at the Stade Velodrome for long.
Under the radar of Bayern Munich, Anzhi and Malaga, it still remains to be seen whether he will refuse the offers of these clubs especially if OM fail to gain a top three finish by the end of the current campaign.
And with no financial strength, the club might not be able to refuse the offers that will certainly come from the player from many clubs next summer if not this winter.
However, L’Equipe claims that Les Phoceens are considering taking their chances on the player.
The sports daily suggests that the player would be meeting the directors of the club after he returns from the CAN to discuss a contract extension.
Under contract with the Rhone giants until 2014, the son of former Marseille legend Abedi http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pele-c40189 should sign an extension to his current contract which would keep him at the Stade Velodrome until 2015.
This would certainly be a great news for coach Didier Deschamps and chairman Vincent Labrune. Both men know that keeping Andre Ayew at the club for as long as possible will be a great benefit to the club.
Andre Ayew is also keen on staying an extra year at the Canebiere island which is a great gesture made by the young Ghanaian.
Furthermore, rumours suggest that Ayew’s release clause on his current contract is not out of reach for most of the club who are keeping tabs on him. Signing a new contract extension with a more expensive release clause would certainly go a long way in assuring
that if Marseille do succumb to the approaches of Ayew’s suitors, the club would certainly be getting a lot of profit from a player who has played an important role in Marseille’s recovery after a poor start to the current campaign.
