Reports in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Togo-c3022 international is keen on moving away from the City of Manchester Stadium this summer and has been linked
to a host of European clubs.
Adebayor spent the second half of the 2010/2011 season on loan at La Liga giants http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 player scored five goals in 14 league appearances for Real Madrid. The Togolese has also expressed his desire to stay at Santiago Bernabeu. However,
it appears that Real Madrid are not looking to sign Adebayor on a permanent basis which means that the African will have to find another club where he gets more playing time.
Rumours in the Rhone district now suggest that Marseille coach Didier Deschamps is eager to bring the controversial striker at the Stade Velodrome. Initially, Marseille were linked with a move for Italian international http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alberto-Gilardino-c4324. However, reports
now suggest that Deschamps favours Adebayor more over the Fiorentina man.
Furthermore, Adebayor’s experience of playing in the Ligue 1 before makes him a more logical choice over Gilardino. Adebayor represented AS Monaco between 2003 and 2006 and played 79 games for the Monegasque club before departing for English Premier League
side Arsenal.
Wages could prove to be a major hurdle for Marseille in order to acquire Adebayor. Rumours suggest that the Togo international is earning a staggering 680,000 a month at Manchester City, wages that Marseille might not be able to afford. Furthermore, the
club is looking to ease the burden on the payroll which means that Deschamps request to bring in Adebayor might be declined by Vincent Labrune.
Even if Les Phoceens consider making a bid for the striker, they will have to compete with the likes of Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Fenerbahce – clubs who can easily afford Adebayor’s wage demands. With the club looking to balance its books, Adebayor’s
arrival seems very unlikely as it will go against the club’s new policy.
