According to reports in French daily, Le Parisien, Ligue 1 giants Olympique de Marseille are looking to loan out http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international striker Andre-Pierre Gignac to an Italian Serie A club in a bid to save the 25-year-old’s monthly wages.
With Loic Remy showing more and more improvement with each passing day and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-Ayew-c19098 showing that he is the future of the club, Les Phoceens coach Didier Deschamps might have enough options already in terms of strikers for this season.
Though the French tactician needs a new striker, it seems that the former Juventus coach is not really confident in the abilities of the former Toulouse striker.
According to Le Parisien, Gignac’s representatives are currently working with the Marseille direction in a bid to loan the player out to an Italian club. By loaning out the player, Les Phoceens would be able to cut down their losses by not paying Gignac’s
huge salary. According to reports, the 25-year-old earns 300,000 Euros per month at the club which means that he is one of the highest earning players in Ligue 1.
Sending Gignac out on loan would further add funds to hire a new striker for Deschamps. Though it is still not clear which Italian club would be interested in signing the striker, a move away from the Stade Velodrome could prove to be a good one for the
striker.
Since arriving at the Rhone club from Toulouse last season for a fee believed to be in the region of 18 million Euros, the 25-year-old has scored just eight goals for Les Phoceens in 38 Ligue 1 games.
Staying at the Stade Velodrome could prove to be Gignac’s downfall as the striker would definitely be way down the pecking order. Deschamps would naturally prefer using Loic Remy, Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew which means that breaking in to the first-team
would be a tricky task for the Frenchman who scored 34 league goals for Toulouse during his time at the Pink City.
