The Rhone giants have launched a bid for the Caen star player who is keen to leave the Normandy club this summer
A few days ago, AS Saint-Etienne were the club favourite to land the services of talented midfielder Romain Hamouma from Stade Malherbe de Caen. However, Les Verts have failed to come to terms with Caen’s demands.
Hamouma is certainly spoilt for choice at the moment and even if a move to Galtier’s side does not materialise, the Frenchman has a host of other options. Caen want 4 million euros for the 25-year-old and after agreeing on personal terms with the player,
ASSE were unable to meet Caen’s financial demands.
And by dint of playing with fire, the Rhone club could see their priority signing join another club which will leave a bitter taste in the mouth for sure. Reports in Ouest-France claim that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 have indeed contacted Caen over the signing
of the player.
Reports further claim that Les Phoceens have made a better offer for Hamouma that ASSE did and could thus lure the midfielder to the Stade Velodrome this summer.
Though Hamouma’s wish is to join Saint-Etienne, Les Verts are yet to come up with a new proposal. With nothing forthcoming, Hamouma could reconsider his stance.
Now, Hamouma to Marseille seems far away from just a crazy idea. Marseille sporting director Jose Anigo is a big fan of the player and always wanted to sign him up. Newly-appointed coach Elie Baup is also a fan of the player.
However, while talking to media, Anigo reminded fans that the club needs to sell at least one player before they consider buying one. With empty crates, Marseille know that they will have to let go of a few players if they are to rebuild this summer.
The likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mathieu-Valbuena-c24690 and Loic Remy all have been linked with moves away from the Canebiere club and Anigo should quickly sort out the futures of the want away players if he is to start delving in the transfer market where
player patience is not a conspicuous virtue.
