The controversial midfielder has finally joined the Ligue 1 outfit on a season-long loan, putting an end to one of the most talked-about transfer saga of this summer

And the midfielder has expressed his delight after finally securing a move away from the Premier League.
Joey Barton used Twitter to confirm his move to France, and is excited at the prospect of playing in another league for the first time in his career.
The former Manchester City player, who will turn 30 this Sunday, announced that he will be joining Les Phoceens next week and stated that it’s the perfect present for him on his 30th birthday.
"I am now a player for Olympique de Marseille. What a birthday present! Cannot wait to get going. #allezL'OM," tweeted Barton.
