Financial woes at the club have forced Olympique de Marseille to put all its players on the transfer list and many players are expected to leave the troubled club in summer

Olympique de Marseille are in heaps of financial trouble and the failure to qualify for next edition of Champions League has deprived Les Phoceens of much-needed financial windfall.

In order to balance the books, OM have to sell many players in the summer as they are facing a deficit of 35 million Euros. Thus, upcoming mercato could result in many players leaving the Rhone giants.

According to reports, Olympique de Marseille are willing to listen to the offers for all players except Nicolas N’Koulou and Andre Ayew. Certain players could be sacrificed to reduce the club’s debt and departures of many key players seem inevitable.

An inside source, on the condition of anonymity told Provence that the club has decided to cash in on its prized assets.

"Apart from Nicolas N'Koulou and to a lesser extent, Andre Ayew, all of our players are for sale"

This has seriously displeased the coach of Les Phoceens, Didier Deschamps, who was expecting that financial crisis will not have such a drastic effect on his players.

The Frenchman is a great admirer of Cameroon defender Nicolas N’Koulou and Ghanaian midfielder Andre Ayew and has asked the president of the club not to sell the two players as he plans to rebuild the team around them.

However, this does not mean that all the players will leave the club immediately. Marseille have already refused an offer for their star player Mathieu Valbuena. Les Phoceens are determined to sell their players for fair market price and they are in no rush
to let players leave on cheap.

It is still expected that many players will leave the Rhone giants in summer if not all of them. This has put Didier Deschamps in a fix. Even if some of the players leave OM in summer, Frenchman will not be able to recruit new players in time.

The coming days will be very crucial for Olympique de Marseille as it will define the future of the club. And the news of Marseille putting all the players on transfer list would have alerted many clubs who would be very interested in several Marseille players
who have been made available by the club.
