Following the Breton club’s coach’s announcement that he will not sign any offensive players this summer, Les Phoceens might be able to get their hands on Florian Raspentino
Quite strangely, Olympique de Marseille’s first good news of the summer transfer window came from a press conference in Brest. Though it sounds a bit silly, it is true all the same.
For several weeks, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 have been keeping tabs on former Agde striker Florian Raspentino. The 23-year-old is currently a free agent after his contract with Ligue 2 side Nantes expired.
Initially, Raspentino was flattered with the link to the Velodrome. However, uncertainty surrounding the club’s future made the youngster think again. Furthermore, with the arrival of former Nantes coach Landry Chauvin as coach of Stade Brestois, Raspentino was itching for a reunion with his former coach.
Now, things have changed dramatically. Stade Brestois have already completed the arrivals of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571). During the press conference, the Brest coach revealed that the club will no more be looking to sign offensive players this summer thus confirming that Raspentino won’t be arriving in Breton.
“As of today, we must forget Raspentino and abandon his track,” said the coach as he is fully satisfied with the strikers he has at his disposal.
This means that the road is open for Marseille to start negotiations with the free agent. The youngster has already turned down offers from abroad. The 23-year-old received an offer from German Bundesliga side Fortuna Dusseldorf which means that Les Phoceens can be hopeful of bringing the player to Canebiere.
Moreover, signing a free agent could turn out to be a great bargain for the club. The former Nantes striker has always professed his love for the club and would reconsider donning its colours next season.
“I am interested, this is the club in my heart. If the Olympian club makes a concrete offer, we will have a head start. There has been positive first contact, we will see things more clearly soon,” said Raspentino while talking to La Provence a few weeks back which means that the ball is in Marseille’s court.
