Ligue 1 giants Olympique de Marseille have set the price of highly-rated http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international midfielder in order to fend-off interest from several clubs.
The 26-year-old midfielder has been under the radar of some of the best clubs in Europe and it has been suggested that the player would leave Stade Velodrome in the current summer transfer window. The diminutive midfielder has been a great servant to Marseille
since his arrival at the Stade Velodrome from Libourne Saint-Seurin in 2006. Since then, Valbuena has made 125 appearances for Marseille and has scored 15 goals. This season, the Bruges-born player made just 19 appearances for Les Phoceens due to injury but
is expected to play a major part in Marseille’s quest to win the Ligue 1 Championelle next season.
Reports suggest that Marseille have fixed the asking price of Mathieu Valbuena to 25 million Euros. The recent price fixing can be considered as a good ploy made by Les Phoceens in order to fend off interest in the player. The Marseille board of directors
see Valbuena as an important part of the Marseille side and are not willing to let go of him in any case.
The tricky midfielder has long been linked with a move to English Premier League sides http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809. The latter club has been alleged of making an offer for the player last year but Marseille rejected the bid. Valbuena is currently under contract
with the Rhone giants until the summer of 2014 which means that the club won’t budge for an offer of less than 25 million Euros.
