Not sure about his future, Olympique de Marseille midfielder Lucho Gonzalez could be sold to a club this January with reports suggesting interest from Italian and Spanish clubs.

While talking to the media regarding the future of Lucho Gonzalez, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 sporting director, Jose Anigo said, “His case is very special. Humanly, he is an exceptional boy. He’s still a good player, well-known in Europe. He cannot go anywhere.
He has the standard of a good European player. We have not talked about selling him in January.”
The 30-year-old has constantly been linked with a move away from the Stade Velodrome. Last summer, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 star was linked with a move to La Liga side Malaga. However, the Spaniards chose not to sign the midfielder as Marseille refused to go
below 12 million Euros for the transfer of the player.
At the age of 30, Gonzalez is reaching the twilight years of his career but interest in his services is still fresh. Reports now suggest that La Liga side Atletico Madrid are keen on signing the player. Manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 Simeone is a keen admirer of the midfielder
and could be tempted into making a move for the Argentine international.
However, interest in his services does not stop in the La Liga. Sides from the Italian Serie A have also shown interest in Gonzalez with Fiorentina leading the charge.
Under contract at the club until June 2013, Olympique de Marseille would be looking to get at least 10 million Euros to let go of El Comandante.
However, with Marseille qualifying for the last-16 of the UEFA Champions League, Deschamps might not sanction a move for the player yet. Furthermore, the likes of Andre Ayew and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ghana-c2905 in
the African Cup of Nations.
Though Marseille are looking to find replacements for the two brothers, they might not let go of a senior member of their side half-way through the campaign.
With so much conflicts arising in Lucho Gonzalez’s case, it seems that the South American’s future might not be settle before the end of the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 campaign.
