With almost six weeks left till the opening of the winter transfer window, Olympique de Marseille are now ready to flutter their wings by bringing in some new players to the Stade Velodrome in a bid to revive their fortunes in the Championelle race.
After a fairly quiet summer transfer window, Didier Deschamps and Vincent Labrune are now looking to bring in some new players.
However, the two are also resigned to the fact that they might have to let go of a few players in order to finance moves. Initially it was though that Argentine international Lucho Gonzalez could leave the club this winter. However, El Comandante might not
be the only one to be shown the ‘au revoir’ doors.

in the summer of 2010.
The former Toulouse man was close to joining English Premier League side Fulham FC in the final few hours of the summer transfer window. However, the player was then called back as Marseille were unable to find a replacement.
Furthermore, Gignac has been use sporadically by Didier Deschamps so far this season. According to sources, Marseille are now prepared to make some financial sacrifices in order to get rid of Gignac. A fee in the region of 8 million Euros is believed to be enough to sign a striker whose time at Marseille is certainly close to coming to an
end.
At present, no club has officially announced their interest in Gignac but a possibility of moving away from Marseille this winter can’t be ruled out as many clubs would be glad to have their hands on a player who still has a lot of time to get back to his
best form.
